Title: “All the PI’s Men” Author: em2mb Pairing/Character: Logan/Veronica, Mac, Keith, Weevil, Wallace, Piz, Sacks. Word Count: 9,211 Rating: NC-17 Summary: “All... right,” Piz said slowly. He picked up the potato hunk, practically pointing it at her. “But if the next words out of your mouth are an alibi saying Logan was with you, like, with you, just know I’m making you go on my radio show.” Spoilers: Through 3x20, “The Bitch is Back” Warnings: Violence, language, sex, character death. Even Cliff McCormick probably wouldn’t defend this one in a court of law. Disclaimer: Strangely enough, they still don’t belong to me. Author's Notes: This old thing? *bats eyelashes*
( 'I loved Veronica, and I lie awake in my cell every night trying to figure out where I went so wrong in that relationship to end up accused of brutally stabbing her to death.' )

Title: “You Don’t Need a Weatherman to Know Which Way the Wind Blows” Author: em2mb Pairing/Character: Logan/Veronica, Lilly, Duncan, Mac, Wallace, Weevil, Lamb. Word Count: 3,374 Rating: R Summary: Berkeley, 1967 – Lilly snorted. “A part of me wants to see Duncan get drafted. I wonder how much Daddy would support this war if his son had to fight it.” It won’t be much longer before Veronica has to choose a side. Spoilers: Through 1x22, “Leave it to Beaver” Warnings: Character death, rape, and gratuitous nostalgia for a decade I didn’t live through Author's Notes: A very long time ago, vm_library hosted a “Different Time and Place” challenge for which I (quite clearly) missed the deadline. But more than a year later, I haven’t managed to shake the idea of Veronica attending UC-Berkeley in the late 1960s. Title cribbed unabashedly from the position paper of everyone’s favorite radical domestic terrorist group, the Weather Underground Organization, which they borrowed from Bob Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues.” Apologies for any historical inaccuracies. I’ve done my very best. Written in part for 100_situations. Prompt: war.
( A sultry smile spread across Lilly’s face. ‘Check out our gardener,’ she hissed. )

Title: Stove Top Author: em2mb Pairing/Character: Logan/Veronica. Word Count: 1,000: five snippets, 200 words each. Rating: PG Summary: “Southern California is just more… tofurkey, you know?” Five Thanksgivings. Spoilers: Generally through 3x20, “The Bitch is Back” Warnings: If you make like Chandler on Turkey Day, avoid the warm fuzzies. Author's Notes: A day late and a dollar short, that’s me. But I started this one after Grey’s last night, wouldn’t let myself go over 200 words for each Thanksgiving, and still pulled off the bulk of it in three hours. I just didn’t get around to posting. I’m not dead. I’m just in my reporting semester at MU for another three weeks. I don’t own them. Written in part for 100_situations. Prompt #96: Writer’s Choice – Thanksgiving.
( 'And miss the debacle?' Logan’s voice crackled with amusement. 'I don’t know, Veronica. You’re cooking the whole meal in that shit hole apartment?' )

Title: “All the PI’s Men” Author: em2mb Pairing/Character: Logan/Veronica, Mac, Keith, Weevil, Wallace, Piz, Sacks. Word Count: 10,135 Rating: NC-17, some of the good kind, some of the not-so-good kind. Summary: “He just didn’t seem like the type,” Mac said flatly. Finally, she allowed her boyfriend to wrap his arms around her. “Right?” Spoilers: Through 3x20, “The Bitch is Back” Warnings: Violence, language, sex, character death. Even Cliff McCormick probably wouldn’t defend this one in a court of law. Not that I blame him. As those of you who read the first part already know, this one is dark. Author's Notes: If they were mine, then the third season would have ended differently, and I wouldn’t have felt compelled to write this. No, Rob owns Veronica—I just borrow her and return her in less-than-stellar condition. Special thanks to the usual suspects, lazaefair, jayiin and earth2mars, as well as everyone that’s stuck around to read more.
( Logan smirked, trying not to feel hurt. 'Should I wait by the phone?' )

Title: “All the PI’s Men” Author: em2mb Pairing/Character: Logan/Veronica, Mac, Keith, Weevil, Wallace, Piz, Sacks. Word Count: 9,754 Rating: NC-17, and not always the good kind. This chapter is tamer than what’s to come, but you’ve been warned: it’s dark and twisty. Summary: Dammit, Veronica, he thought. Are you starting to see what it does to us when you insist on running off on your own like this? Spoilers: Through 3x20, “The Bitch is Back” Warnings: Violence, language, sex, character death. Even Cliff McCormick probably wouldn’t defend this one in a court of law. Not that I blame him. Seriously, folks. This one is dark. Author's Notes: Even Rob Thomas thinks he’s a whore, so I’m borrowing his characters. Special thanks to lazaefair, who was always happy to plot fic with me instead of studying; jayiin, who always makes my writing worth reading; and earth2mars, who gave me the encouragement to keep going. Title very obviously ripped from the Woodward and Bernstein book, which lazaefair was supposed to talk me out of BUT NEVER DID. Written in part for 100_situations. Prompt: traitor.
( ‘I’m saying it’s a bad idea to storm into the bar where known members of the Irish mob play pool.’ )

Title: “How to be Dead” Author: em2mb Pairing/Character: Lynn, Logan/Veronica. Word Count: 13,895 Rating: R Summary: It’s going to be a hard sell, since everyone who knows her will expect sleeping pills and chardonnay. Lynn Echolls doesn’t jump, but she doesn’t leave it all behind on the Coronado Bridge, either. Spoilers: Primarily through 2x22, but includes the L/V relationship arch through 3x15. Warnings: Probably a strong PG-13, but R to be safe. Includes all the usual unsavory fare of Neptune, including mild language, alcoholism, child abuse, and character death. Author's Notes: The characters might belong to Rob Thomas, but I’ll require their use if my claim is accepted at 100_situations. Named after the Snow Patrol song, simply for the irony that it came on while I was planning a fic on this particular subject. Special thanks to jayiin and lazaefair, the usual partners in crime. More notes below. Prompt: alive.
( It’s not Lilly, of course, the girl I had long ago accepted as the one he’d date and marry and grow old with, but another girl I know almost as well. I pray the tabloids aren’t around to see how he tenderly brushes Veronica’s hair back from her face, despite the obvious pain his wince suggests the gesture brings. )

( 'Hey,' my son says quietly, pulling her towards him. 'Come here. It’s going to be okay, Veronica, even if it isn’t easy. Remember? I, for one, vaguely recall something about for better or worse. And this isn’t even that bad, not in comparison.' )

Apparently, everyone is stealing this from one another within the VM community (I personally stole from freezing_82), but it totally made its rounds on Facebook three months ago. So I'm going to sit back, laugh at the fact that "Wake Up" was my waking up song all those weeks ago, and that "What is Love?" (very much our real prom song) was Paul's prom song. And then I'm going to be a complete dweeb and be like, oh, this is for VM!
( Let me preface with my iTunes is ridiculously good at this. )
And while we're on the subject of Veronica Mars, there's this song (probably one of my favorites, ever - since way before VM, actually) that totally, completely reminds me of Logan/Veronica. Any takers?

Title: “Somewhere In Between” Author: em2mb Pairing/Character: Logan, Veronica, Duncan. Word Count: 2,607 Rating: PG-13 Summary: Logan wondered if Duncan noticed how his girlfriend’s eyes started to fill with tears, how she bit her lip to keep them from falling. He can’t help that he’s living in the Grand now. Or that she’s always there. Spoilers: Season two, sometime between 2x06 and 2x08. Logan’s living with Duncan at the Grand, but Veronica and Duncan are still together. Warnings: Discussion of Shelly Pomroy’s end-of-the-year party, one use of the f-word. Author's Notes: The characters might belong to Rob Thomas, but I’ll require their use if my claim is accepted at 100_situations. The title is from the Lifehouse song of the same name, as I kept listening to it while I worked. Special thanks to jayiin for the beta, especially since he knows next to nothing about VM and comes along willingly anyway. Prompt: insomniac.
( 'Veronica,' he said her name slowly, deliberately. 'Am I really the problem? Because I think the problem—' he pointed in the direction of Duncan’s room '—is behind that door.' )

Title: “Falling Star” Author: em2mb Pairing/Character: Logan, Veronica. Word Count: 1,616 Rating: PG Summary: Her ideal existence might have fragmented four days before, but in twenty-four hours’ time, it would shatter completely. After Lilly’s funeral, Veronica knows it’s only a matter of time before her dad makes his accusation. Spoilers: Pre-series, but through 1x22 to be safe. The day Lilly is buried, though I’ve probably taken some liberties with Keith-Mars-accusing-Jake-Kane timeline. Warnings: Might ruin memories of a favorite childhood candy. Author's Notes: The characters might belong to Rob Thomas, but I’ll require their use if my claim is accepted at 100_situations. Prompt: legend (writer’s choice – chosen by crispyone29).
( There were people who hated Lilly, people who were jealous of her and people Lilly had dismissed off-hand, but had there been anyone who actually wanted her dead? Her father, the sheriff, seemed to think Mr. Kane had. )

Title: “Strawberries” Author: em2mb Pairing/Character: Logan/Veronica. Word Count: 1,888 Rating: NC-17 Summary: She’s killing him with glossy pink lips and chocolate-dipped fruit. Logan should have known better than to let Veronica talk him into fondue. Spoilers: Nothing specific. I envision this fic taking place about a year after 3x13, but it could be any old February 14. Warnings: Sex. Author's Notes: The characters might belong to Rob Thomas, but I’ll require their use if my claim is accepted at 100_situations. Valentine’s Day fluff. I felt like I had to do something after making everyone cry with the last fic, so it’s currently un-beta’d. Prompt: beg.
( Dress to impress? Check. Eat suggestively? Check. Discard stiletto, put foot to good use? Check. )

Title: “Neverland” Author: em2mb Pairing/Character: Logan/Veronica. Word Count: 4,049 Rating: R Summary: You don’t carry on. You change. You change, and you’re never the person you were again. Twenty-some years later, Logan and Veronica have to bury another teenage girl. Spoilers: Season three relationship arch for Logan/Veronica, but nothing specific. Future Fic. Warnings: Character death, grieving. Author's Notes: The characters might belong to Rob Thomas, but I’ll require their use if my claim is accepted at 100_situations. Prompt and additional notes after the fic.
( She sits and twists her wedding ring. Eighteen years of marriage, three kids. Just when they thought the hard part was over. )

Title: “Pinwheel” Author: em2mb Pairing/Character: Logan/Veronica, slight Piz/Veronica. Word Count: 4,410 Rating: PG-13 until the end – mild R to be safe Summary: There. Just in case he/she/they ever needed to be reminded. They’ve built their lives around memories and little strips of paper. Spoilers: Season 3 relationship arch for Logan/Veronica Warnings: Some language, some (non-graphic) fooling around Author's Notes: The characters might belong to Rob Thomas, but I’ll require their use if my claim is accepted at 100_situations. I don't usually churn out two fan fictions in two days, but I'm feeling especially creative at the moment. Prompt: ticket.
( There’s a right and a wrong way to do tickets. You either tuck them in the mirror or tack them on your bulletin board. Half the fun in going is the proof that you went. )

Title: “Baby Steps” Author: em2mb Pairing/Character: Logan, Veronica. Word Count: 1,004 Rating: PG-13 Summary: He’d do this for her, and he’d do it for him, too. They'll both have to change to make this work. Spoilers: Season 3 relationship arch for Logan/Veronica Warnings: Excessive drinking Author's Notes: My very first VM fic posted. The characters might belong to Rob Thomas, but I’ll require their use if my claim is accepted at 100_situations. The prompt was alcoholic.
( When had it become a problem? Not before Lilly died. Before Lilly died, he’d just been a teenager who’d partied hard, partied often. But after, it had been Mr. Morgan and Mr. Daniels who convinced him slipping Duncan GHB was a good idea. )

It's probably unwise of me, what with 18 hours this semester and a half-dozen other commitments, to venture into a new fandoms. But I want to, so I will. What better way to get involved with Veronica Mars than partaking in an exciting challenge?
( I like this table a lot. )
